Questions from steel and glass companies
Q: Which glass thickness do we have to use?
A: The thickness of the glass depends on the frequency of use of the area, the drop height and the situation (windload etc), in the UK you can still use tempered ( toughened glass) in Balustrades though we recommend tempered laminated glass. OnLevel have systems which work with 12mm to 31.52mm glass thicknesses'.
Q: Do we have to drill all holes in the concrete?
A: All holes in the profile must be drilled to achieve the lastest certified test results. An execption is the TL-6020 profile that offers 2 performance standards in one system depending on the use - ask for more information about this special "all-rounder" profile.
Q: Are there any assembly manuals available?
A: Yes, there are. The assembly manual provide clear and complete information about the assembly, we also print the installation "pictograms" inside the lid of every flex-fit installlation kit, and of course, have installation videos on our website, Facebook pages, LinkedIn and You Tube - search OnLevel Official.
Q: Why is there a colour indicated with the rubber sets?
A: All rubbers are black, but the wedges have a different colours per glass thickness for easy identification that the correct glass thickness and wedge match which is critical when installing the system - OnLevel make it easy on site too !
Q: What type of anchoring should we use for inside or outside?
A: For inside, a galvanized anchoring solution should be used. For outside, stainless steel 316 anchoring must be used; our system use a range of bolt anchors - we personally recommend Fischer Fixings and stock a wide range of these.Remember that dfarin is still very importamt to maintain the long term performance of bith the glass and anchors - OnLevel offers well drained systems by design - we think of tomorrow today
Q: How does the Top Cover work?
A: The Top Cover can be clicked onto any profile universally- our base profiles are specially designed to be symetrical to ensure easy use across all our accesory range.
Q: Should a snap frame be used?
A: Snap frames are mostly available across much of our range of side mount profiles and are simply click fitted ( or "snapped" ) positively on to the profile.
Q: Are we able to replace glass post-installation?
A: Yes, the glass and wedges can be removed with a special tool to be replaced.
Q: What is the maximum glass width?
A: No maximum has been set for the glass width but we advise a maximum of 1300mm due to the simplicity and speed of assembly- especially for the Flex-Fit kits to work smoothly with heavy glass.
